The Beaver Moon, which is a full moon, will rise on November 5, 2025. This lunar event is particularly special as it coincides with a supermoon, which means the Moon will appear larger and brighter than usual due to its closer proximity to Earth.

30 years ago today, Def Leppard entered the Guinness World Records.

On October 23, 1995, Def Leppard made rock history by performing three concerts on three continents in one day.

The band played in Tangier (Africa), London and Vancouver, setting a Guinness World Record and proving that rock truly knows no borders.

Sonny Curtis joined the Crickets in 1958, just months before Holly’s death. Curtis penned perhaps his most enduring rock song: “I Fought the Law,” which the Crickets first released in 1960 eventually immortalised by the Clash, 1979. His hit “Love Is All Around” (1970) became the theme song to The Mary Tyler Moore Show. His daughter Sarah wrote: “He was 88 and he lived a more exceptional life than anyone I’d ever met. May we look at his life with joy rather than sadness. Died 19th Sept. 2025 RIP

Remembering John William Cummings who died on this day, 15 September 2004 (age 55 years), better known by his stage name Johnny Ramone, was an American musician who was the guitarist and a founding member of the Ramones, a band that helped pioneer the punk movement. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

Linus Torvalds, with the words "f%^5ing clue" and "Garbage", rejected the RISC-V design changes for the Linux kernel 6.17 code. The RISC-V updates will not be included in the new cycle, and will have to be repeated for 6.18 later this year. Torvalds called at least some of the proposed RISC-V code garbage, and also responded to developers that it was submitted too late in the merge window.
