Compared to this our keyboards rely heavily on our pinky fingers (see image) 🤔
How about shifting more keys from the pinky to the thumb? A different keyboard design is needed 😕 but maybe (especially) young people will enjoy using a desktop computer more this way!
A few days ago I switched from a normal (staggerd) keyboard (img 1) to a columnar staggerd keyboard (img 2) and realized that I type the letter "C" with the wrong finger all the time.
But, why? I usually type "ctrl+C" with my small finger and index finger and then continue typing "C" with my index finger, which is wrong (img 3)!
The "normal" keyboard layout, designed for typewriters, is a strange artifact that we somehow just accepted.
Anybody else here typing "c" with the wrong finger?
The time has come where #ai #ml has changed from an obscure tool for scientist to something used by the general public.
