Netflix Canada ‘Password Sharing’ Screen – Truth or Fiction?

On February 9 2023, the top post on Reddit's r/all purportedly depicted newly introduced Netflix sharing restrictions in Canada.

Truth or Fiction?
@jeff hi Jeff hope you're well. Is there anyway I can get SSH access on startuphub.social instance to install a 'widget' we've created?
Or is it something you can install?
FactPipe now supports article sharing to Mastodon.

FactPipe has advertised on Twitter for years, within ~month ads aren't getting approved.
When inquired why were told due to "quality" issues listed in their guidelines.
Reviewed their policies and didn't see any issues, so I asked what specific issue so ad could be edited to meet them.
Please see attached response. It appears we no longer can advertise period, and no explanation is forthcoming.

Anyone else notice a change?
Are they now censoring ads/firms with heretofore unknown criteria?

@stevesilberman Interestingly enough it also appears their advertising policies have arbitrarily changed. Same ads as before not being approved and no response from support for several days.
Missed adding a comma that would have helped clarify a Tweet. Tried to correct it but one needs to pay $8 a month to have that 'privilege' (as part of Twitter blue), which in Mastodon is standard functionality.
The functionality gap will likely grow as time goes on, which is why we should believe in the long-term success of this platform imho.
The lesson of Android vs. Blackberry comes to mind.
@ben @blaine IMHO only...
Is widespread adoption the hallmark of success? Do we say that about literature vs. comics? Indie vs. CGI movies? Gourmet vs. fast food?
So far it seems Mastodon is a place for discourse and Twitter is entertainment.
Both have their place but too early to tell which will be more important LT.
That's not to say that I think of the Fediverse as merely a niche product, as time goes on it may provide a robust alternative to corporate sponsored 'enterdivisiveness'
@tiffanycli If it was also on FB, would it qualify as a meta meta post?
Starting next week we will start including Toots as part of our Community Based trust rating system. We're also working on something more seamlessly integrated with Mastodon. Always interested in any input.
Happy Holidays to all.
