@zenlan I've got an old Lenovo (i3 4gb) which boots and works fine and will run up to date Ubuntu adequately except that a kernel bug in an old version of Ubuntu nixed the BIOS so I can't boot from an external drive so can't wipe and reinstall it. If you can deal with this BIOS repair you're welcome to the laptop once it's wiped? Lenovo doesn't have a fix for this model to upgrade or repair BIOS and so I ended up buying another laptop second hand.
