Igor Girkin, the former commander of Russian forces in occupied Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, has been arrested in Moscow on extremism charges, according to his wife and Russian media. Girkin, also known as Igor Strelkov, is a former colonel in Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and served as defense minister in the separatist Donetsk People’s Republic in eastern Ukraine.
