Research is not a ‘gig economy’. Following the announcement that up to 150 research positions at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) are at risk, the Green Party has called for a fundamental overhaul of the Government’s approach to research funding

The country needs more homes built. But in our area, our calls for good planning are being ignored.

I spoke recently on the need for government to build schools in our area - the area that's delivering most homes.

Communities like Kilternan & Sandyford BD population is growing & we're pressured to zone even more land for housing.

Dublin 18 needs more from our Minister for Education & her party colleagues who tiptoe around the lack of investment in the fastest growing area in Ireland.

Ireland cannot outsource its future to FDI alone. Research Ireland’s long-anticipated strategy does not match the scale of the opportunity that exists in Ireland, nor the urgency, given the ongoing geopolitical disruption.

Please don’t assume you’re on the list as voters on the previous NUI and TCD panels were not automatically added to this new register.

Last night Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil balanced a €9m hole in our council’s budget, caused by giving a 15pc tax cut to Local Property Tax, by hiking council tenants rents and increasing car parking charges and green waste charges. I believe that this is wrong and in a cost-of-living crisis, it is unethical which is why I voted against it.

Students are being short-changed on their fees, accommodation and transport.

I encourage all students and their families to attend the ‘Flip the Fees’ protest on Monday 6th at 12pm outside the Dept. of Higher Education.
