We have a little form where you say why you're interested, but that's just to keep the future troll risk down.

Love to have you. We have a custom "Toot!" button that has a nerd reference you'll probably enjoy. Sometimes there's pie.

Pro-tip if you're looking for an attorney: it's almost always easier for lawyers to find a lawyer in a given area/speciality.

@Popehat actually talked about this on Serious Trouble recently - if you need a referral, it's worth asking another lawyer that you might know or have worked with, because they can often make informal inquiries that will get ignored if they came from non-lawyers.

I don't know anything about #football because, honestly, I can't watch it. I saw the videos of #DamarHamlin and it just reaffirmed that feeling.

The tragedy is set to be amplified when we have to endure his name being taken up by anti-vax lunatics pushing their (or more accurately, some talking head's) agenda.

As with guns, defenders make the cause of a tragedy anything and everything else. Appalling.

I love closing out the year with this. 😊

On December 31, 1995, exactly 27 years ago today, legendary cartoonist Bill Watterson published his final 'Calvin and Hobbes' comic strip.

How beautiful and appropriate it was, and a timeless reminder of what we have before us in 2023. ❤️

Happy New Year, ya'll!

ATTENTION! WE HAVE @greg_doucette FOR ALL YOUR BURNING LEGAL QUESTIONS like "is it legal to dig a spike lined pit on my property if I call it an art installation titled THE GAPING MAW OF CAPITALISM??"

Andrew Tate getting so mad at Greta Thornberg that he accidentally doxxes himself to the Romanian authorities and gets arrested on outstanding human trafficking charges might - just possibly - be peak 2022.

WFAE, Charlotte NC's NPR affiliate, has done a solid 3-part series on why Democrats here cannot seem to win statewide races

Political coverage of North Carolina often focuses on the Democratic Party’s ascending coalition — young voters, minority voters, and college-educated professionals. The general narrative is that this group will finally have a breakthrough to win a presidential or U.S. Senate race. In this series, we look at why this hasn’t happened.

There are valid reasons to have QTs and to not have them. Safety is a valid concern. But this prioritization of fake civility, is not good at all. This ignoring the Black perspective, is also no good.

There are folks more upset at @QasimRashid for sharing how migrants were harmed and put in real danger on Christmas Eve, than they are upset at Abbott for doing the harming. In some folks' eyes, the bigger misstep is Qasim harshing the Christmas vibes. I don't know how to explain that this is bad.

As a human rights lawyer who has done extensive immigration work, let me make something absolutely clear.

Asylum is legal immigration.
There's no "port of entry" requirement.
There's no "visa" requirement.
There's no "first country" requirement.
You enter the United States, and you apply for asylum.

Because asylum is legal immigration. Period.

Period.
