I posted yesterday that I would likely close this instance at the end of the month, in favor of akko.disqordia.space -- but I guess seeing the reaction to that, I want to have a discussion and see if that's the best course of action
My primary issue with it is it is down to 2 active users. In contrast, the Akkoma instance normally has about 20-25 users actively posting every day (about 80 total users since being made last month) and those users are much more active as well, the Akkoma is poppin. Misskey had some interest before we were on Akkoma, but because Akkoma has MFM and custom emojis, people just overwhelmingly stopped using the Misskey.
I don't really have the time myself to stay active on here as anything more than an occasional alt, and my efforts to generate interest in joining never really amounted to much interest in people staying over here.
So to me its like, the money that goes into this (i'm not on dedicated hardware) may be better spent in beefing up the Akkoma instance and adding services that would be more wanted.
So what I would need is a mod over here who can help get this off the ground as its felt like it just never really took off once people migrated off. It landed and stayed on the ground.
So I turn to yall to ideas or if you support pulling the plug, or what yall want I guess. If the active members here want to keep it funded to keep it regardless of its state, that's fine, but what's actually the better route to take here?
