Nobody managed to tell me what it’s called but it’s my favorite CNY snack discovery this year. Best I can describe it is like a mini papadam with whole peanuts and dried small fish (anchovies probably?) on top. Crunchy savory maybe-just-one-more 🤤

I’m properly down with the flu or something.

Being able to order comfort foods like this, at the press of a button, for ~2€, makes it significantly more bearable.

Got into the routine of working in cafes 1-2 times a week. Took some time to find suitable places (can’t be too busy, can’t be to noisy, chill atmosphere, etc) but I have a few good options now. (1/2)

*: Malaysian food is 99% season-agnostic (and even time-of-day-agnostic), so I’ll leave that as my argument that any food here is christmas food 😬

Everything is … you know *gestures vaguely at everything* but we managed a few calm moments today.

I don’t cook German a lot, but at christmas time I do feel the urge. So I made some potato dumplings and a pork roast. Sauerkraut is surprisingly available here in Malaysia, if you look for it!

Another work trip. As has become tradition, I made a bucket of Milchreis (milk rice) for the boys before I left. This time with some homemade apple mango sauce. Had a taste. Yum, if I may say so 😋
