this isn't just a political war, it is also a cultural war. the US is attempting to spread the uniquely American cultual tradition of shrugging off the mass slaughter of school kids.

it wasn't long ago that the IOF felt compelled to put out a press release justifying the slaughter of children. not sure what it means about our media landscape that they no longer do, and we no longer demand it.
