Aligning vocals. I know there’s a whole ass plug-in to do this now, but I prefer my vocals cage free organic artisanal. Or because I’m a cheap bastard.
@ology @elsemusic oh hell yeah I Beth Gibbons the shit outta her vocals 😁 I had her singing on the copperphone on this one for backing vocals. If you’re gonna have a singer with character you gotta play it up (while still being a gentleman in the mix, hence the vocal automation)
@elsemusic yeah Fairchild into LA2A gets me about 75% of the way there but the shifting timbre of her voice just makes things wonky. Gotta earhole it and do the time
Said it once, I’ll say it again. Laura’s vocals are, uh, “dynamic” in a way that compression just does not handle well. So automation. This is my life now.
