My baby baseball cap is here! It's here! I'm soooo happy! I used to be able to do a really good Donald Duck impression. Oh how I loved that cap - then and now.

*sigh* so contented.

Thwack, thwack, thwack
Goes the baby dachshund's tail against her brother's back
Thwack, thwack, thwack

I hide brother undercover
And she curls up like a little lover
Innocent atop the dark fleece cover.

You guessed it.
Until today. I finally found it on a knock-off eBay site. Not just the pic, but the cap itself!! And my memory was pretty darn accurate about it. Only thing I got wrong was the amount of piping and I thought the badge was a little smaller.

Hell yes, it's on the way. It's not going to fit - it was kid-sized and I did happen to find a large here, but still. SOOOO EXCITED!

Well, there, little lady. Don’t you worry none, I’ll take care of you.

Scoutie - the older dog on the outside - spooning Kiernan (the puppy being spooned). She loved him quite a lot, but the spooning was awfully cute.

I think this was the first hike my ex and I took in the Sandia mountains. We saw this odd shaped bird in the distance and were trying to figure out what in the world we were looking at. At one point, we thought it might be a parrot. Finally got close enough for a picture and looked it up - Gambel's Quail.
They're super common out here and in fact, most years I have families of them living in the front yard. It's fun to watch them herd their babies.

El Malpais

Straight ahead is Tsoodził (Mount Taylor in English). It's the Navajo turquoise mountain. This pic was taken when coming down off the sandstone bluff area of the park. One of my favourite spots that I've been to in New Mexico.

Oh, Apple, you just have to punch me in the stomach, don't you? On the "For You" photo widget, a great pic of Rey popped up from April 2017, about a month after we got Rey. She was about 1-3 years old and just the sweetest, most loving baby. There was even a bit of glitter pink nail polish on her nails from the previous owner. We always suspected she'd been in a family with little girls who loved to dress her up. (And possibly ran away during a car trip? Hard to know.)

Waaaaay back machine: December 1, 2012, a young Mr. Tieg with his patented "gimme the ball, gimme the ball, gimme the ball" look.
I miss this dog every single day. And this may hit a little harder since losing Rey yesterday. Just sucks that they're with us such a short time.

Damn. Today it was time for the Fabulous Miss Rey-Rey to take a final curtesy. Such a beautiful little soul who I missed terribly when she went with my ex. (But was very very loved there.)
