ā€œYou rode your motorbike where?!!ā€

My brother, an excellent cameraman with a passion for dirt bikes adventures overseas and although I miss him dearly, he sends me brilliant films from his travels. I love living this experience vicariously but recently I’ve been having a lot of fun feeding his films to my machines and sending back the results of him burning about in fantasy worlds 😁 šŸļøšŸ¦„šŸ§žā€ā™€ļøā›°ļø

Emma Catnip on Instagram: "When @openaidalle invited me to join the Artist Program earlier this year I was delighted. An avid follower of DALLĀ·E’s progress, I couldn’t wait! I’d been using different methods of AI/ML in my creative process and was beyond excited to incorporate it into the pipeline. The first time in front of the interface is almost intimidating - like when someone asks you to find something funny on YouTube and your mind goes blank! This passes quickly: before you know, it’s dawn and your face hurts from laughing. The realisation sinks in that you can see things that you have never seen before. DALLĀ·E quickly became a creative collaborator.  I experimented with aesthetics/wild ideas.  I became obsessed with ā€˜variations’ for a while and letting DALLĀ·E lead the direction to make short films - the results were sometimes unexpected!  Back in Feb, I embarked on a creative campaign for @plaidmusic at @warprecords around the release of ā€˜Feorm Falorx’.  The concept: Feorm Falorx is a 24-hour non-stop electronic music festival, held on the planet ā€˜Falorx’ where all life is turned into light.  As the album/artwork developed, I was keen to incorporate the new advances in creative tech as they manifested.  A fun idea was to create a graphic novel documenting Plaid’s journey/experience of space travel.  DALLĀ·E became an essential part of my toolkit, especially the outpainting feature. I could create HUGE ā€˜collages’ for pages, expand on previous creations. I tried Falorxian flora first. Previously generated in DALLĀ·E, some photoshop, upscaled. That image fed into another AI model (I had formed a style to ā€˜falorxify’ images). This stylised image back to DALLĀ·E, outpainting to extend above/below to the one you see here and finally in place on the pagešŸ›ø Repeatedly using this technique to explore previously unknown areas of existing images,  feeding them back and forth to other models, with coaxing+patience, the story unfolded. 9/10 months+many late nights ā€˜Journey to Feorm Falorx’ was released 11/11/22. I can actually hold it in my hands. The warm feedback from readers makes me feel emotions.   Thank you DALLĀ·EšŸ’œ Big love to my @n0m1nt and @jungler.tv fam for all your support 😻"
