there was a woman at the store who apparently gets gifted a shocking number of apple products because she has That Kind Of Family, and offered to just *give* me her old iphone, but (1) apple UIs are aggressively incompatible with emily and (2) it seemed like her problem was going to take *forever* to solve
$partner joked that this is a sign I should finally upgrade from my very janky phone, but (1) the jankiness is a property of the emily, not the phone, and (2) I would need the SIM from it
