I make videos about programming languages like Haskell, Rust, Nix, Cobol, Assembly and other weird ones. I also love retrocomputing and game development!

@vkc I wish I knew the context for this, sounds hilarious.
@pat @wizard sometimes I ask myself this. The startup cost for a new emacs is pretty high and helix needs barely any configuration. I think I’ve just gotten lazier and lazier.
Proof that music / singing is good for your health /hj went to choir and stress levels measured by Oura went down markedly. #oura #choir
@isabel just use a map function on all the pages. Shouldn’t be too hard! ❤️ hope you at least got it in discount, not easy to find 2024 planners I’d imagine!
@starlightwake I want more. Instant follow.
@TerryBTwo @tangledwing I literally have this metaphor when I describe thinking about a problem. I mostly try to understand the words then I sit and wait for the little guy in my brain to do his work and give me an answer. Sometimes he’s on break lol but often I have very little insight into how I debug or solve problems. When I describe this to my friends , they often don’t relate.
@pat @wizard I love elisp also, I’m a former emacs addict haha now I’m trying to use Helix which doesn’t have a plugin or language system really, hard times .
@pat @wizard ive been writing in nix a bit? played with some rust? so maybe that scrambles things up a bit lol i think i might actually miss elisp.. but just a little haha
@TerryBTwo @tangledwing very interesting. i read the article (https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20150217-how-smart-is-your-subconscious) its short and easy to understand. fascinating topic. i'm guessing some people work more with unconscious processing than others (me!) i forget my code for my door that hasnt changed in forever when i try to think about, but it works when i dont.. so theres some truth there!
Your subconscious is smarter than you might think

We feel that we are in control, but a new experiment shows just how much work is going on underneath the surface of our conscious minds.

@mirari maybe get into a writers group and get feedback ?
