I pulled weeds today.
Took call from my sister who was sharing the doom and gloom of her news feed.
I pulled more weeds.
Dodged some Summer kisses.
Moved pots of dahlias so I could mow.
Picked up garbage on our road with a nifty grabber.
Pulled more weeds.
Mowed half an acre and the side of the road.
Learned that my daughter will need a major surgery soon.
Told my sister, in a patient tone of voice, that we knew things would get worse before they get better. We will weather this storm.
I also told Summer she can answer the next call.
Promised Summer that we will get to the cardboard tomorrow.
Must be time to start dinner.
This rescue rose is growing and blooming like crazy after years of trying to find it a perfect spot.
Nothing worthwhile comes easy.
I know that for sure.
