Microsoft scales back AI Goals because almost nobody is using copilot

https://news.abnasia.org/blog/posts/en-microsoft-scales-back-ai-goals-because-almost-nobody-is-using-copilot-2732 [https://news.abnasia.org/blog/posts/en-microsoft-scales-back-ai-goals-because-almost-nobody-is-using-copilot-2732] This headline nailed it! Turns out, Microsoft just learned the hardest lesson in AI - distribution doesn’t beat usefulness 😳 Microsoft’s AI Copilot was supposed to be everywhere. In Windows. In Office. In your workflow. Turns out it’s mostly ignored. Recent reports say Microsoft quietly cut internal Copilot sales targets by up to 50%. Not because of vibes. Because of math. → Copilot ~14% market share → ChatGPT ~61% → Gemini sprinting into 2nd place And this is with Microsoft’s insane advantage: Windows + Office + Azure + OpenAI access 🤯 If that stack can’t force adoption, maybe the problem isn’t distribution. It’s value. Enterprises tried Copilot. Piloted it. Demoed it. Bought licenses. Then, employees opened ChatGPT in another tab. Because most of today’s “AI agents” are confident interns with no context. So when Microsoft says“70% of Fortune 500 have adopted Copilot”, what it really means is this: Procurement bought it. Employees didn’t. Most importantly, forcing AI into everything didn’t help. People didn’t ask for: → AI in Paint → AI watching their documents → AI narrating PowerPoint like a hostage video They asked for one thing: AI that actually saves time, or does something humans couldn’t do before. Right now, Copilot does neither. Ridley Scott’s Post-Apocalyptic Thriller ‘The Dog Stars’ Set for Summer 2026 Release

From visionary director Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner), The Dog Stars will soar into theaters on August 28, 2026 via 20th Century Studios. Based on the 2012 novel by Peter Heller, the post-apocalyptic thriller is written by Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Twisters). Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Josh Brolin (Weapons), Guy Pearce (Prometheus), Margaret Qualley (The Substance), and Benedict Wong (Weapons) star. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, a virus wipes out humanity and survivors face roaming scavengers called Reapers. The story centers on Hig (Elordi), a civilian pilot who lost his wife to the disease. Hig lives a lonely life on an abandoned Colorado airbase with his dog and a tough ex-marine (Brolin). The two men couldn’t be more mismatched but depend on each other to fend off Reapers. When a random transmission beams through the radio of his 1956 Cessna, the voice ignites a hope deep inside the pilot that a better life exists outside their tightly controlled perimeter. Risking everything, Hig flies past his point of no return and follows its static-broken trail. [https://i0.wp.com/bloody-disgusting.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/dogstars-teaser.jpg?w=1035&ssl=1]

Firefox Will Ship with an "AI Kill Switch" to Completely Disable all AI Features - 9to5Linux

Share this article: Firefox AI Kill Switch After the controversial news shared earlier this week by Mozilla’s new CEO that Firefox will evolve into “a modern AI browser,” the company now revealed it is working on an AI kill switch for the open-source web browser. On Tuesday, Anthony Enzor-DeMeo was named the new CEO of Mozilla Corporation, the company behind the beloved Firefox web browser used by almost all GNU/Linux distributions as the default browser. In his message as new CEO, Anthony Enzor-DeMeo stated that Firefox will grow from a browser into a broader ecosystem of trusted software while remaining the company’s anchor, and that Firefox will evolve into a modern AI browser and support a portfolio of new and trusted software additions. What was not made clear is that Firefox will also ship with an AI kill switch that will let users completely disable all the AI features that are included in Firefox. Mozilla shared this important update earlier today to make it clear to everyone that Firefox will still be a trusted web browser. >“Something that hasn’t been made clear: Firefox will have an option to completely disable all AI features. We’ve been calling it the AI kill switch internally. I’m sure it’ll ship with a less murderous name, but that’s how seriously and absolutely we’re taking this,” said Firefox developer Jake Archibald on Mastodon.
