When I tell y'all how many people work for the NYPD, and that their budget ($12B/yr) is greater than the military budget of almost every country on earth, people think I'm exaggerating.

I'm not.

So when they say that they "Don't have enough resources," to pursue all the sex crimes or thefts? They are lying.

Apparently some people have yet to discover this fun fact about Lego and it's younger playmate Duplo: They bond in a 2:1 relationship. As illustrated by this Duplo baseboard nearly covered with regular basic Lego bricks.

Maybe it's true, as the administration claims, that some of these people are gang members who've committed violent crimes. Or maybe it isn't. That's why we have laws, and trials, and rights, and evidence, and prosecutors, and defense lawyers, and judges, and juries.

The gun people nod sadly to each other. "Such a tragic accident," they say. The police arrive, interview people, and make a report: "Accident." The dead are not interviewed. Then everyone runs off yelling "BANG, BANG, BANG!"

Except occasionally something happens. Maybe they hit a bump. Or they are distracted by their cell phone. Or they had a little too much to drink before going out for a gun run. Or they see a non-gun person and want to teach them a lesson.

The gun goes off.

Gun Town

There's a town near you where most of the residents spend much of their days running around with guns. The guns are real. They are loaded with real bullets. Their fingers are on the triggers. But they don't pull the triggers, they just yell "BANG, BANG, BANG!"

We went from "we will deport the worst of the worst" to "we will deport anyone here illegally" to "we will round up anyone who looks wrong" to "people who live in cities are the enemy" essentially overnight.
