My SO found this recently; created by her in middle school in the 90s. Neat that it still works.

My cousin's response was "uh...that shouldn't cause a fire".

I'm pretty sure this is a little neon lamp paired with a 100,000Ω resistor. 120V, 1.2mA, .144W, sounds good. Still not gonna leave it plugged in though 😆
