PS: I used to think I was a terrible designer.
Know someone who should hear this? Let them know, or repost this thing to your own feed. ♻️
I am curious, though, how do you deal with self-doubt?
The goal is not to be the best but to be better every day. Nail continuous improvement down, and you are already a winner.
If you get that picture clear, every step you take should lead you closer to that image. Look for inspiration in others closer to your aspirations, and experiment with steps that help you get there, too.
So, instead, focus on who you would like to be in the future. Try to draft an image of what you want to create and how you want to behave.
How about we accept that there will always be someone doing something different or better than us and that learning is something we will have to do forever?
And this is why self-doubt serves no purpose if it cripples you. Because if self-doubt comes from those who are better, you will never be good enough. So, how about we change our perspective?
No matter who you are or where you are in your career. There is always someone to look up to; if it isn't because they are better, it is because they are doing something different. Something interesting.

What if I am not good enough?

Every designer, engineer, product owner, and every other human being has had this thought.

Fair question, but screw that! This is such a depressing way to look at yourself and your career.
