@uys Thank you, Juan!
@davidbauer Thank you, David!
PHOTO BLOG: Earlier this month, a storm chaser from the Netherlands took a wonderful photo showing several textbook ice halos, including a 46-degree halo, a 22-degree halo with parhelion (sun dogs), and an upper tangent arc. https://www.accuweather.com/en/leisure-recreation/live-news/weather-permitting-photo-blog/933860
@perte I'm very tempted, also. Possibly through DigitalOcean, but I don't want the hassle of managing updates, etc.
All the managed hosting services seem to be swamped at the moment.

And based on what's happened the past 48 hours on Twitter... think forward

Imagine - say - Washington Post revealed abuse of workers at a Tesla plant in Shanghai

What would happen?

Would it be dealt with fairly? Now I really doubt it. The reporter(s) would get blocked, and links to the story flagged.

Twitter is no longer a reliable and predictable place for news and the first take on the news.

@stammy I'm honestly surprised it hasn't already happened.

@seldo "At both the Tweet level and the account level, we will remove any free promotion of prohibited 3rd-party social media platforms, such as linking out (i.e. using URLs) to any of the below platforms on Twitter, or providing your handle without a URL:
Prohibited platforms:
• Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Post and Nostr
• 3rd-party social media link aggregators such as linktr.ee, lnk.bio"

I can't help but think he's really *trying* to destroy Twitter.

Elon Musk seems to be determined to destroy the utility of Twitter. You're now forbidden to post links to Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Post and Nostr, as well as link shorteners.
This is stunningly stupid.
