95% of "keeping it" these days is showing up to be counted.
Show up.
While totally despondent at the events of the last few days, sometimes feeling like the walls are closing in on the great American Experiment, I remind myself that we are fully into the "Weekend at Bernie's" phase of Trump 2.0.
The walls are NOT closing in on us. They are closing in on them.
I can honestly say that the most extreme of those hurlings-of-venom out of car windows have, over the last few weeks, started to sound more crazy and desperate. My best guess is that the most dug-in of the cultists are in a state of all-out panic, as they see that their orange savior has gone into full "Weekend at Bernie's" mode, just barely showing up to just barely read the cue-cards.
We do live in interesting times.

We just laughed heartily, and assured him that we receive at least two or three fusillades of "such bullshit" every Saturday morning we are out here. But, we explained, in stark contrast we receive literally thousands of beeps, waves, smiles, thumbs up, and other (subtle to vociferous) expressions of support and gratitude from passersby. He thanked us for being out there and returned to his car.

He expresses grave concern, since he and his partner heard some truly vile things being screamed at us from a car that was passing by. "Oh my God! Did you hear what they said? Are you guys okay? That is soooo bizarre that they would scream such bullshit at you!"
