Mastodon’s decentralized architecture has a lot of flaws. This was probably okay in 2000, like the IRC servers, but 2 decades later it just no longer works. For example, for starters, you can’t see a friend’s followers if they are on a different server! Right there is the death of the network effect. You can’t discover new people through a common friend. Unless you’re happy to engage within your server cohort this isn’t going to work. I’m out. Musk is a jerk but Twitter is still better.
