The deprecation of the 1.x API for automatic updates has been moved to effective immediately due to infrastructure changes and lack of use. Current versions are still supported.

This should now be all clear. As before, the @drupalassoc team and the @tag1consulting teams will monitor for any issues.
Abusive traffic has been mitigated. We have also updated our scaling configuration to better handle this situation in future, now that we have the tools to do that following the recent maintenance windows.
⚙️On Wednesday, March 4th - from 16:00-22:00 UTC (8am-2pm Pacific), we will have an additional maintenance window that should be invisible to community for the most part (apart from a pause in new translation processing and some other jobs automation/crons) - where this time some non-production server hardware will be physically moved. Should not be disruptive the way Friday -> the weekend -> Monday widows were.
We are aware that site performance on *.Drupal.org is degraded at the moment. The team is investigating. We are fairly confident this has not been caused by the recent infra maintenance windows, but we are seeing extremely high load and are trying to identify and manage abusive traffic as well as scaling up resources as necessary. Unfortunately abusive traffic targets us multiple times a week (and yes, we do have bot protection, WAF protection, CDN, etc)

We have completed this maintenance window, thanks to @tag1consulting and @osuosl

We will be monitoring closely for any issues that may occur, and are also following up on some hardware that didn't respond well to the move.

2️⃣ On Monday, March 2nd from 16:00-22:00 UTC (8am-2pm Pacific) our remaining physical servers at the OSU OSL will be moved to a new datacenter.

This will affect: security.drupal.org, localize.drupal.org, jobs.drupal.org, groups.drupal.org - and pre-production and utility systems used by the DA.

Again, DA staff and our Tag1 Infra partners will be on call.

We are out of the Friday maintenance window, and in monitoring/catch-up/fixing mode.

packages.drupal.org will be out of date with the very latest releases until later today.

Drupal.org SOLR search is reindexing, at a rate of 2% per hour.

Issue notifications were delayed and may still be catching up in queue.

We will continue monitoring, cleaning up, and fixing issues throughout the weekend, in preparation for the Monday window - https://mastodon.social/@drupalinfra/116138081509232725

We are extending the window today (Friday, Feb 27) at least another hour to 20:00 UTC/12pm Pacific or beyond.

There are many moving parts and pieces - and traffic rerouting at our CDN provider Fastly has proven particularly troublesome for this kind of move.

We'll remain on call today and through the weekend to look out for issues even after the window completes

Please note: packages.drupal.org used by Composer will be offline for some or all of Friday's window. (today).
