See you're upset about him getting paid, but you also want to see him banned.
Not everyone agrees with you though.
Over the past 8 years Nazi has been thrown around a lot, and you may not realize it but that's made it cool to be a Nazi. Some play into it for the lulz, but some don't.
@rezzyreksya I don't think everyone is a Nazi, and I don't know what genocide you're referring to.
Is it safe to assume you'd prefer to see people you disagree with not paid, but banned? Nazis and fascists are all about banning, and somehow in the more recent times antifascists suddenly wanted to ban everything.
@TheQueensMindset @flexghost @Tweetfiction Correct about the war: The economic model that created these platforms is reaching saturation with diminishing returns possibly due to brands cutting back on purchasing advertising. The economy is in a strange spot for many people as well, and that means they will be more particular about their dollar spending. Paying creators drives more effort from them on the platform, Youtube/Twitch have done this best via superchats. Twitter Blue=cash to creators.
@ConanTheActuarian @flexghost
People use Twitter for the same reasons they always have.
It's ubiquitous, and serves as a way to see events, both real-world or esoteric/online as they are happening.
You just don't really get that from anywhere else currently.
Mastodon can also do this if they get enough users.
Threads probably stands a better chance based simply on the ease of on-ramping via Instragram/FB.
@flexghost That's very hyperbolic, but it's a partial truth. If you engage with those people you are technically yes.
However those same people also retweet and engage with their polar opposites, regularly.
Both sides post "look at what the other side is doing now!", and pile-on ensues.
The extremism/polarity is driven by the nature of social media, and Facebook pioneered this early on as a means to drive positive stats. It worked, but it's become organically driven now.
@MostlyWriting Certainly there are ways that wealthy people fly private without being tracked though.
In this situation he has been matched to the jet's ID number/call sign, and then people are watching/publishing it.
But before Elon there have certainly been many people who were mired in controversy, and yet avoided that sort of situation.
A fix for him would be to charter private flights rather than owning one, or at least I'd think.
@corbden @AlgoCompSynth
The guilt of violence lies with the person for sure, but there's also something to be said for avoiding a surprise situation.
Situations like the Q shooting are a totally different type of crime, and arguably terrorism.
But do you think there is a lot of targeted violence against trans people? Even phobic or religious people generally don't condone violence against trans people because that hurts their causes politically.
@corbden @AlgoCompSynth
The violence/murder is a tricky situation. Some trans people are transparent about it, but others who are "passing" or just keep it their own business where no one knows.
Do passing individuals account for more or less of the attacks?
I've heard that many attacks happen with a new sexual partner who is unaware, and reacts horribly.
But I have a friend who I only know he's trans due to knowing them prior. I would think it happens more for passing women.
@AlgoCompSynth I don't understand what this means?
@onan How beautiful women were back in the day always amazes me.
