Thanks to ifixit.com kit and a spare battery ironically purchased from Amazon.com.au I’ve been able to restore two dead kindles.

Found cheap RC plane on AliExpress. Controls are only throttle and left/right via two pusher props, but no moving surfaces/ailerons etc. It performs left/right turns by changing speed of the twin props.
