Fuck. Harper was showing soreness in the evening after strenuous exercise, so I took her to the vet & x-rays show she's got hip dysplasia & arthritis in her knees. She's only 3 & such a talented, athletic dog who loves to play hard!
I'm going to let her finish out the last 2 weeks of frisbee league & 1 last season of dock diving, but soon she will need to stop high-impact play like frisbee & fetch to slow progression. I'm heartbroken to have to take away so much of what she loves in life

It has been 0️⃣ days since Spork's body has moved too fast for his brain and caused him to peel off a considerable chunk of skin and flesh.

A good debut in Toss & Fetch Frisbee league (a straightforward competitive disc dog sport that rewards distance and speed) for Harper and Spork. I tested out a new platform setup in the truck to maximize room for them in the passenger seat, and both rode fairly comfortably for the 80 minute drive & Spork managed to not throw up. During Harper's 2nd round Spork was in the truck & decided to panic chew through my seatbelt because Chewing Is How We Escape. #dogsofmastodon #discdog #DogSports
