So it's worth mentioning that I'm not using Bitwig, but my needs are very different.

From what I've seen of it, it's got a lot of that 'modular feel' that Reason has. No idea how well it will do with composition and all that. I'd presume it has a pretty good MIDI editor.

FWIW, I've been using Studio Pro (nee Studio One) for years and really like it. But the Linux version is wayland-only and can't display 3rd-party VST GUIs unless they're coded specifically for wayland.

@rottedmood I do!

It's going to depend on how you use Reason, really. Bitwig is probably the best bet, but YMMV.

I wanna make a search engine for millennials called altalavistababy. It will be crawlers only, no reliance on Google or Bing results. BBS and geocities weighted highly. No AI.

Shitty old school interface, paginated, no forever scroll, no dark mode. It'll be like 1998 never ended.

Easter egg to refuse results after January 1, 2000. Cuz y2k.

Finally ordered my #ploopy Adept trackball. Will replace my Kensington Slimblade (and also my Gameball, which I never really got along with.

The hardest part is waiting like two weeks for it to get here.

I'm thinking about signing up for Upwork and Fiverr as a freelance audio engineer. Will probably start with a pretty low rate for podcast and music mixing, just to see how it goes. 🤞

I am very upset with the Borderlands trailer.

No one asked for this. No one wanted this. It looks like a horrible cash grab where the actors and the director are only there because of contractual obligations.

Happy #TwinPeaksDay, y'all!

I am finally starting to publish some new music to SoundCloud. I also decided to adopt a different name to release stuff under.

The most recent one is attached to this post. I actually wrote this one with a structure that's conducive to adding lyrics, as my wife wants to do an actual band. We'll see on this track.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. It's not 'too much,' which is very easy to do. However, I will never like programmed drums. There's just a certain energy that's missing when you don't have a real drummer.

@davetron5000 I don't know if the Roland re-issue is digital or analog, but the Behringer is absolutely 100% analog. For better or worse, lol.

I would not be surprised at all to hear that the Roland is a digital recreation, though.

My wife bought me a new synth for Christmas. It's the Behringer TD-3, which is a clone of the venerable Roland TB-303 bassline synth from the 80's.

So for one, it's time to make some Acid House. For another, it's REALLY highlighting that I do not have enough desk.
