One thing I’ve noticed on #mastodon is I’ll get a notification that someone followed me but the follower number on my page stays the same? Is that person following then unfollowing or is the app not updating?

After the recent blacklisting of journalists on #twitter, it’s safe to say the idea of an alternative platform is more than just a fringe or over dramatic concept or reaction. I’ll try to start migrating more of my attention here and I hope to see more of the great #writers and #journalists I followed here as well!

I’m a graduate student at LSU and today a prof told his class he was on mastodon and they could follow him there. Sounded natural!

Do we know if link previews will be a thing here? Kind of missing that. Feel like it helps get stories circulated. Thoughts?
