Finished Mistborn: Secret Histories [https://www.librarything.com/work/17152292/t/Mistborn-Secret-History] novella. Don’t want to spoil, but it was really exciting to read this secret history. Read Redshirts [https://www.librarything.com/work/11921345] by John Scalzi. A sci-fi about the “redshirts” in a Star-Trek like universe. Highly recommended for any Star Trek fan. Started Rosemary and Rue [https://www.librarything.com/work/8103463/] by Seanan McGuire. First book in her October Daye urban fantasy series. This is my first Seanan McGuire book, have heard a lot about her. Still skimming through The Bullet Journal Method [https://www.librarything.com/work/22205950/] by Ryder Caroll. Putting Ultra-processed Food [https://www.librarything.com/work/30205807/] by Chris van Tulleken on hold for a bit, shouldn’t have started multiple non-fiction at once. Will pick it up after finishing the Bullet Journal Method. Bingo squares covered: Short and Sweed, Award Winner (Hard mode) What about all of you? The Hidden Cost of AI Art: Brandon Sanderson

The Hidden Cost of AI Art: Brandon Sanderson - Discuss Online

An interesting keynote about hidden cost of AI Art by the author Brandon Sanderson. I might be a bit biased though, since Sanderson is my favourite author, and I am resistant to some of the things “AI” is used for, if not completely anti-AI. What do you think about this? Note: It’s from the event in Dec 2025, it was just posted in text form recently. If you want to watch the video, you can do it here: https://youtu.be/RXyWtp8tuYY?t=1988 [https://youtu.be/RXyWtp8tuYY?t=1988] (might have to go couple of seconds forward or backward)

Finished The Bands of Mourning [https://www.librarything.com/work/15782979/] by Brandon Sanderson, 3rd book in the 2nd era of Mistborn! Read last 150 or so pages in a single sitting. Very interesting where the story is going. After finishing it, I wanted to focus on the other books I was reading but the ending made me start the Mistborn: Secret Histories [https://www.librarything.com/work/17152292/t/Mistborn-Secret-History] novella right away. The novella takes place in Era 1 (at least as far as I have read) but the recommended order is after The Bands of Mourning, as mentioned at the end of the book. Pretty interesting so far. Still Readings Ultra-processed Food [https://www.librarything.com/work/30205807/] by Chris van Tulleken and The Bullet Journal Method [https://www.librarything.com/work/22205950/] by Ryder Caroll, but at very slow pace. Going to focus on them one at a time to speed them up. What about all of you? Readings: - Ultra-processed Food [https://www.librarything.com/work/30205807/] by Chris van Tulleken - The Bullet Journal Method [https://www.librarything.com/work/22205950/] by Ryder Caroll - The Bands of Mourning [https://www.librarything.com/work/15782979/] by Brandon Sanderson, 3rd book in the 2nd era of Mistborn Still the same books as last week. I don’t think it was a good idea to start 3 books at once, I am probably going to focus of Bands of Mourning, which has become really interesting. Still have about 1/3rd of the book to go though. Not much change at my end. A bit further in the books, but still reading the same books: - Ultra-processed Food [https://www.librarything.com/work/30205807/] by Chris van Tulleken - The Bullet Journal Method [https://www.librarything.com/work/22205950/] by Ryder Caroll - The Bands of Mourning [https://www.librarything.com/work/15782979/] by Brandon Sanderson, 3rd book in the 2nd era of Mistborn What about all of you? Welcome to year’s first weekly thread! How are you all doing? And what are you book / reading related resolutions for this year? — I started Ultra-processed Food [https://www.librarything.com/work/30205807/] by Chris van Tulleken Just started it, but looks like an interesting read. It’s about the ultra-processed food we eat these days. Also skimming through Ryder Caroll’s The Bullet Journal Method [https://www.librarything.com/work/22205950/]. Read this last year (or was that year before that?) and wanted to check something but decided to skim through most of it. Still reading The Bands of Mourning [https://www.librarything.com/work/15782979/] by Brandon Sanderson, 3rd book in the 2nd era of Mistborn. It was going great but didn’t get to read much last week or so, should be getting back to it now. What about all of you?
