For reasons I don't care to explain, I have recently had second-hand exposure to a number of self-published authors of self-help books. Without exception, there isn't one of these people that I'd allow to advise me about where to buy a sandwich, let alone my life and career choices. (And my life and career are a flaming shambles.)
