I see Neil Gaiman is back in the news claiming a smear campaign against him.

I’m not even sure why I read the article, he’s irredeemable in my book.

However one interesting thing I noticed is that I’m not getting “his voice” when I read any more - which my brain used to do automatically. It’s like my subconscious has rewired to stop favouring him over other narrators.

In fact the only writer it reliably works for now is Grace Dent.

For my birthday I got a colour e-reader (Kobo Libra Colour). The obvious 1st book to read was The Neverending Story with its two colour text, red for our world green for Fantastica. But there don’t seem to be any ebooks recreating those original editions, they just use italic text. And all the illustrations are awful quality black and white.
Challenge accepted.
I’ve edited the text to be multi colour, and scanned illustrations from my old paper copy!

My vines have set a late pumpkin, in contrast the other pumpkins are almost ready to harvest I think. I’m stupidly invested in this little thing. It feels like an underdog getting a late start so of course I’m rooting for it! #gardening #pumpkin
