@b_fung Wouldn't it be great if you or I could get away with telling people lies to say, get a better job or fly a plane or perform surgery with no repercussions.
@gabre@rvawonk Not always possible. Think All The President's Men. Could you have known all the reporters knew? Or validated what was being said by Nixon.
@inkstainedmags IMHO, If you are being censored or boxed in by this platform then how is that any different from being banned or suspended on the other site? I'm hoping the goal is to preserve civil discourse which many have already pointed out is possible amongst "adults".
@democracydocket All in all I think this is positive. If those of us who fight for Democracy are smart, we'll help design citizen ballot measures to appeal to the core values of the constituency. That's how they got the pro choice measure passed in Kansas, they appealed to the less government control aspect of the population.
So I have now been regularly posting on Mastodon for a week. I like it here. I shall be staying. No one has tried to engage me with superficial attempts of emotion. Twitter is a disorganised environment. It is inefficient and contentious. 🖖 #TwitterRefugee#twittermigration
@robinbrenizer Is it weird that this actually brought tears to my eyes? It's thoughtful, forceful but restrained at the same time. I applaud him. I applaud his dedication to decency and being able to look out for his "family" at the same time.
