What do you think of this plan to switch from Instagram to Pixelfed? - sh.itjust.works

I hate Instagram. Because every post results in Meta knowing more about me and getting better in manipulating me and society. Locked in because of the critical mass. For now, it’s the only way to keep in touch with international friends. Would you be willing to make a Pixelfed account? Today? And double post everything for a while, on Insta and Pixelfed? It’s the only way to make this work, I think. Slowly creating a critical mass without dumping Insta rightaway. For the moment you and your friends won’t miss out on anything. Along the way mention from time to time on Pixelfed there are no ads, no manipulative algorithm, … There are tool to import your Insta posts with hashtags and timestamps. Although, apparently, these don’t work perfect yet. Continue doubleposting until half of your contacts have done the same. Then start only posting to Pixelfed, simultaneously posting an Instagram post saying you and most others have switched and why. Could this work?

Hi. A lifelong friend of mine was euh, killed recently. The kind of stuff you only see in movies. Somehow it started a creative musical process. I sing out of tune, but the making was more important than the result. It was kind of a therapeutic. I do everything with Teenage Engineering OPxy and OP1field. A long time ago I used to play on the train with a Yamaha QY70. Some years ago I started DAW’ing. But starting up computer and cubase, sitting behind a computer, in a fixed room, cables, linking plug-ins … I hate it. Enter Teenage Engineering. Just power it on and continue on your project or try something new… Wherever, whenever. You don’t need both machines. Got the field first. As a lot of people discovered, it’s a totally different approach and more akin to a band rehearsing live. Missed midi/sequencing. Added the xy and now I have my perfect “studio”. My workflow is 80% of the track is made on the OPxy. Then I record to OP1f. There I add extra sounds or beats but mainly vocals (also great vocoder).
