At its peak, there were ~5000 developers building on the Ethereum blockchain, according to enthusiasts' own estimates, and this was easily the most popular platform for blockchain devs. By contrast, over in the fediverse, Mastodon *alone* has over 40k stars on GitHub (indicating individual devs who are following the project) and that's just one project within the overall explosion of innovation happening in every facet of the fediverse — without any crypto bribes or scams driving any of it.

I grew up in an observant (devout?) Muslim household. When I questioned my faith, my folks didn't ban books. They encouraged me to read books by Muslims AND non-Muslims—Christian, Jewish, atheist, or other. It was life changing. And it's a message I'm passing on to my children now, and one I hope they pass to their children when the time comes.

Parents: Trust your kids. Ban ignorance—not books.

@zoran @caseynewton Genuine question. All the click bait SEO content is terrible and frustrating and as unethical as it might seem, if AI can generate real useful content augmented by a real person, I’d consider that progress.
