Oh, cool. The new PC I ordered from
#HP (and that is late for delivery) is apparently a time machine, and I can expect delivery 2 months ago...
New PC ordered to replace my dying music server (and don't get me started on how hard it is to find a PC with a CD drive built in these days...). Presumably due to the chip shortage this will take 2 weeks to be delivered, so in the meantime this is my solution: the internal HDD containing my music taken out of the server, and put in an external docking station attached to another PC (which has no spare internal SATA slots). At least
#SONOS can access my library again, now...
The day after reminiscing about great Hawkwind albums of our youth, I found this copy of X In Search Of Space in a 2nd hand store. Cover's a bit battered (it's from 1971...) but it still has the original Hawkwind Log booklet in perfect condition! Looking forward to hearing it again, once I've cleaned it.
#AlbumOfTheDayUnconventional band merch that still seems entirely on-brand.
USPS: Are you f'ing kidding me??? This is DESTROYED! And the CD has a chip out of it. And I get a preprinted apology on a plastic bag you shoveled the bits into???
Because you can't have too much King Crimson in your life...
One for all the (domestically-embattled) grammar nerds.
Why do I feel like America isn't really The Greatest Country In The World, and we're constantly settling for less just because we're not aware that there is 'better' out there? Japan DESERVE to win the World Cup, because they're clearly better than us, and love their people more.
Sweet! One of my top 10 albums on vinyl at last, plus the newly-released Companion. Looking forward to giving these a spin.
Only just discovering Minus The Bear after discovering this excellent debut solo album by their guitarist, David Knudson. Contrarily, I'm now starting with MTB's live Farewell, and working my way backwards. Sucks to discover a band only after they have already disbanded, but so far so satisfying.
