I haven't even read this full thread. But I will point out the amount of time I save by ordering things online. I work 5 days a week, 12-13hrs a day. Driving around, different stores, dealing with people. No thanks.
I ordered about $1k worth of stuff for spring projects at 4am Monday and almost all of it was delivered by 5pm Monday.
During those 12hrs, I got jump started on several house projects, took the dogs on walks, and played tennis with my wife/some friends.

Don't get me wrong, the United States is one of the largest emitters of C02, but when taking population into account, the United States is not at the front of the pack. Well, not the FRONT front anyhow.
It's easy to pass the blame. I feel we should all focus on how we each can do a better job in our day to day lives.
