@mkj @mackuba @jik @bmaxv @tychotithonus There's also this fine thread where a passkey industry person more or less mafioso style threatens KeePassXC with "that's a nice passkey implementation you got there, it'd be a shame if we banned your program working with passkeys" due to KeePassXC having allowed users to export their own keys unencrypted.

One can somewhat understand the position, but it's a real tell of how anti-user-control the passkey project is.

@arstechnica This study's methodology sounds flawed. They asked random teachers, who gave random prompts, and the researchers compiled these into prompts they thought are representative.

Good LLM work can't be done like that. Ever heard of "garbage in, garbage out"? A prompt needs to be thoughtfully constructed, and the results iterate until the desired outcome is achieved.

Simple example: the study says AI lesson plans did not touch on higher order Bloom's concepts. Well, this expectation is wrong. Who expected them to do so, when the prompt says nothing about this requirement?

That's not good research, I am sorry to say.

@hetzner I have been running 2 VPSs for 3 to 4 years without a single failure. Amazing service at great prices. Storage Boxes are awesome too, I use one for my Nextcloud data directory and Immich photo storage. Definitely recommend the combo as it's 100% reliable and very hard to beat for price. And of course it's in the EU ;-)

Calling it right now:

So they cant let him go to trial, cause its not him.

They'll falsely denigrate him to make those that supported him hate him. Can't have a martyr.

And then he'll "commit suicide" (read: Epsteined) while awaiting trial.

The NYPD & FBI come out looking good. They caught their guy. And - more importantly - it discourages copycats who might have thought they too could get away with a similar act.

Meanwhile the actual shooter is free. Wonder if he'll lay low the rest of his life or if he'll do this again. I dunno.

And that's my conspiracy prediction. Good night.
