Grizzly bear cubs can nurse for as long as three years. This family rests on the bank of Mussel Inlet, British Columbia, on a rainy day in October, 2021.

It was a challenge to capture this image because of the rain, low-light conditions, and movement of the boat. There were about 18 bears roaming around the inlet that day. All of them were catching salmon to fatten up for the winter.
