harassment over fiction is bad.
whether it be black edits, or lolisho art.
you can't say, 'it's just a drawing, chill out' when ppl harass you over lolisho porn or problematic ships and then abandon that principle when someone draws their fave anime character black/bipoc. those edits/fanart are also 'just a drawing'.
i can't stand racist chuds that defend 'freedom of expression' when it comes to their loli waifus but join in on harassment when it's a black person having fun with raceswap art, or people liking queer ships.
you also can't say, 'artists can do whatever they want, leave them alone' irt (rightfully) defending artists that face harassment over black edits/raceswaps but abandon that principle when the 'drawing whatever they want' involves transgressive content. they should be able to draw what they want, as long as it isn't hurting anyone/causing net harm to an irl community. taboo ships and 'weird' anime art aren't targeting people.
ppl have the right to draw what they please without worry of being called slurs, denigrated, or accused of terrible things.
I'm black, so the harassment rooted in racism takes precedence for me. but this was something that couldn't be ignored.
You shouldn't be called racial slurs over imagining your fave characters looking like you, and you shouldn't be pedojacketed/told you deserve your abuse by strangers because you wanted to make the wrong anime characters kiss. It's that simple. People just piss me off, and as a black, pro-fiction artist, I'm tired.
