@rbreich Humans behave in a number of ways when they are afraid. There’s a body of research on fear responses. So many people turn the tables on the detained, for ‘escalating the situation’ by fleeing or not following orders. Police are agents of a brutal justice system that uses threat of incarceration to operate a giant tax collection system. Poor people are terrified of these tax collectors with the power to jail. They run, they get angry.
