@bcantrill @ahl Spurred by this funny little bit of historical revisionism I stumbled over today, and the recent news of 20% cuts to workforce:

@neauoire I was reading your post on computing and sustainability (https://100r.co/site/computing_and_sustainability.html) and noticed you included excerpts (below) of a comic I'd seen before but can't remember the name of or where.

Which comic is this? Is it one you or Rek are working on? I thought it was really cool and would love to be able to read it again! ❤️

@aislerhq Do you know if a PCB emulating a PLCC package like this could be made?

I got some concrete measurements following our last conversation: https://mastodon.social/@developing_agent/111973676599792907

Specifically, the pitch from the start of one plated finger to the next is about 1.27mm. While the folded leads of a real PLCC package were quoted as 0.33-0.53mm wide on the underside, I measured the leads as being 0.9mm wide at the edge of the package where they interface with sockets. 1/2

@aislerhq Do you have manufacturing support for this sort of thing? (plated fingers, sort of like the opposite of castellated holes, for emulating a PLCC package)
