A rant about these STUPID ads on Prime Video - sh.itjust.works

TLDR; Oh my god who thought it’s a good idea to put ads in the middle of a movie and then TWO in the middle of a 27 minute long episode of a show!?!?!? I was watching Fleabag on Prime last night (great show) and there were no ads, everything was going great, and then when watching The Smashing Machine (Safdie) right afterwards I got an ad in the beginning. I think okay, I can still deal with that, standard prime is super cheap anyway here, so it’s not a big problem. However, right in the middle, during a sudden cut from an emotional scene they showed a fucking ad for cars. Wtf. Then today I wanted to finish Fleabag and on the last episode they made us watch an ad at first, then in the middle, and then about 7 MINUTES from the end! What the actual fuck? Anyway I’m cancelling my prime sub asap and just pirating this shit at least the ads don’t show up in the middle (or at all with Adblock obviously). Fucking hell.

Yeah they have TOO many features at this point.
Yeah it seems they really let perfect be the enemy of the good.
Yeah I’m surprised by everyone here. European Truck companies are famously top tier and have been innovating a lot.
Not that much into documentaries but one that has stuck with me for a long time is Love is Potatoes
MacBook hardware and performance on Linux would be so good.
Turn on Hide Dock in settings.

Honestly compared to windows it’s a lot more customisable. There’s a vibrant community of developers that make really great apps for macOS, and nowadays a lot of it is foss too. I just recently installed DockDoor, which enables your desired windows not app switching and A LOT more. There’s another app that adds basically hyprland style window management, and there are other alternatives as well, like rectangle, or Loop, which add more normal window snapping.

Also I don’t know if it’s a setting I changed but I don’t have dynamically adjusting icon positions. It behaves the same way as windows.

Overall imo there’s a ton more easy customisation compared to windows, and a lot of it adds big new features in my experience. Of course it doesn’t compare to Linux, but it’s a lot better than windows.

In most recent memory it was a caprese cheesy pizza at 3 am on a cold autumn night. Nothing hits like that imo.
