Today I was in court covering the latest in multiple lawsuits over LA County’s jails, where things are so bad the US DOJ lawyer actually suggested jail closure as a solution.
At one point the county's lawyer suggested the judge should visit the jails to better understand the challenges: “We’ll roll out the red carpet!"
Judge replied: “I don’t want the red carpet and when I saw it initially it was horrible.”

Cornyn once claimed in an ad that he’s supported legalization for undocumented immigrant youth. But given an actual chance to do something about, like right now during the lame duck session, he's done nothing but throw cold water on the proposal.
