The failure of the church

In my opinion, the lesson to be learned from the failure of the church under National Socialism must be to recognize reality and to ask about the consequences of faith, not to hope "for a transcendent, holy God who holds life and nature" in the ecological crisis, but to explore one's own responsibility and one's own possibilities.

It was not only the German Christians who failed during the National Socialist era, as the Stuttgart Confession of Guilt testifies. There was a failure of the church that was caused by the denial of reality, the adherence to anti-Judaic traditions and the rejection of the political consequences of faith.

Neoliberalism has many forms that share a number of characteristics.
