@timkmak I wish he could have visited Kyiv in the summer of 1995. You would go to a restaurant and ceremonially look at the extensive menu and then politely ask “what do you recommend?”. They would then tell you the two or three things they actually had available. Also at the end of your meal you would almost always pay in large stacks of Ukrainian Cupon (approximately 250,000=1USD at the time) as almost no place accepted credit cards.
