You know, that’s an interesting point. I think it can be really interesting to explore the „darker“ sites of one’s psyche through choices offered by better RPGs.

I refuse to play games which revolve around what I perceive to be normalization of and desensitization towards amoral killing, though. I simply don’t enjoy them because I can’t help but wonder what playing them does to people’s minds.

Yes! Super interesting devices, a friendly community, lots of development and you’ll be playing games made before gaming went full enshitification.
Yeah, no. Russia really needed gas and oil to be much more expensive globally. That Ukraine war is costly. Also the Trump/Epstein files. Also Israel.

It does sound like that, doesn’t it. I’ve been down that rabbit hole, but currently my only Linux device is a steam deck. Apple stuff for most things, pc for AAA gaming.

So, no. I like Linux, but I really meant that I increasingly manage to find some satisfaction in getting „my money‘s worth“ out of my hardware instead of finding excuses to buy new stuff.

These sound like great ideas. Additionally, I find that making the most of the hardware I already have can be really satisfying, too.
Because they have everyone addicted using devilishly addictive algorithms, socio-psychological hacks and platforms designed to amplify it all. Meanwhile, we’re still stuck prescribing individual solutions to these deeply systemic structural issues.
