If you want to compete with the psychic rewards of bigotry — of feeling superior to scapegoated women and minorities — the competing offer must be GENEROUS and CREDIBLE. Bigotry has always existed in the USA, but it hasn't always dominated electoral politics. In 2024 we have reaped the harvest of decades of stingy neoliberalism that let the plutocracy take most of what could have been offered to the general public.

Today people feel free to vote their prejudices because they have been steadily losing out economically for nearly half a century no matter which party was in power — even after 2008, when the Dems had a filibuster-proof supermajority in the Senate. The focus should be on trying to convince the public that #Harris will change that — not on flipping Green Party votes.
