NEW from me: Hundreds of pharmaceutical leaders signed an open letter condemning Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk's ruling on mifepristone. The same leaders' companies & trade groups funded nearly all the Senate Republicans who confirmed Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk. https://prospect.org/power/2023-04-12-pharma-cash-conservative-court-majority/
Pharma Cash Built the Conservative Court Majority That Now Harms Pharma

Drug industry CEOs angrily dispute Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk’s ruling on mifepristone. But they spent millions on the Senate Republicans who confirmed him.

Don’t miss today’s tour de force takedown of the macro modeling status quo in @TheProspect by @NickHanauer. It’s chock full of the most glaring examples of how current models are missing the mark— and biasing against the policies we need to grow the economy from the middle out. https://twitter.com/groundwork/status/1643610267798913025

The Silicon Valley Bank collapse exposes a reality that rich people would prefer to ignore.

t's not just that 5 years ago Congress deregulated the very type of bank that led to this mess, it's that the entire thing could have been avoided if anyone involved wasn't completely stupid https://prospect.org/economy/03-13-2023-silicon-valley-bank-bailout-deregulation/

Here's my story on the SVB bailout, including a chat with Katie Porter, whose first thought was, "I can't believe we have to talk about this shit again." https://prospect.org/economy/03-13-2023-silicon-valley-bank-bailout-deregulation/

.@nytimes, if you're quoting a VC saying Silicon Valley Bank was a “systemically important financial institution,” you should note that SVB lobbied to make sure it was not considered one, and nobody in the VC world said otherwise.

What's funny to me is the Silicon Valley types who are manufacturing bank runs because they've never heard of cash sweep facilities are the ones who are building *artificial intelligence*

There's something called Insured Cash Sweep. It essentially cuts up your large account if you're a business into insured pieces, $250k each. In the event of a run, those deposits over the limit are safe.
