If you have an IBM PS/2 model 35SX or model 40SX, I encourage you to PLEASE CHECK YOUR BIOS ROMs! I am looking for 10G4128/10G4127 from 1992 which have currently been spotted in the wild who-knows-how-long-ago but are not yet dumped.
These are rather rare ISA machines when they do show up and having this final ROM set will make life easier for anyone that has one of these two machines.
Just watched this fantastic fantastic lecture on expert/academic writing. Pragmatic and borderline cynical but he really picks apart the realities of writing for an expert audience who is reading your work voluntarily.
Love these old interviews with the UNIX team. So many new-at-the-time concepts that are still the main way to do things today. And they're just another bunch of nerds forced by corporate to give awkward demos to the camera :p
LB: https://artisans.coop is a new Etsy alternative that's cooperatively owned by the sellers, and they're (we're? I bought a founding share, and have been advising a bit) launching today.
I'm really glad to see more businesses like this, and seeing co-op-style businesses helping each other out. Etsy is way down the enshittification route already, and small creators need better places to support them without defaulting to wealth extraction.
Have you heard the news? Artisans Cooperative is now open with over 70 artisan shops and 1,200 handmade products and counting!
We are so thrilled to celebrate our launch during National Co-op Month, a time when cooperatives around the world are raising awareness of the cooperative business model.
Explore the marketplace and join our vibrant handmade community at https://artisans.coop.
